Raw Thrills was founded in 2001 in Skokie by classic arcade designer Eugene Jarvis, the creator of Defender, Robotron, and Smash TV. The company has revitalized the modern American arcade with hits like Cruis'n Blast, The Fast and the Furious, Jurassic Park Arcade, and Target: Terror. It merged with Play Mechanix in 2006 and now employs more than 60 developers. Based in Skokie, Illinois. Classic console clubs and community organizations connect collectors, players, and historians around specific eras or hardware - chapter meetings, swap meets, tournaments, and preservation projects.
